Each year, the Martinet Society and the New Orleans Martinet Legal Foundation, Inc., the 501(c)(3) non-profit arm of Martinet, hosts this signature event to raise funds to provide scholarships to distinguished law students at our local law schools and to conduct community service projects that create change for the benefit of the Greater New Orleans area. We are especially grateful for our sponsors, who are integral to the success of this annual event.
The Gala committee is tasked with coordinating the Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch (the “Gala”), developing a budget for the event, receiving and determining scholarship awards, and all other awards and presentations at the annual Gala. The 2021 Scholarship Jazz Brunch will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, 601 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana.

2018 Gala
The Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Inc. (“Martinet”) and the New Orleans Martinet Legal Foundation, Inc., the 501(c)(3) non-profit branch of Martinet (the “Foundation”), held our Annual Scholarship Gala and Jazz Brunch, entitled “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing: A Celebration of Standing Up for Justice,” (“Gala”) at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, 601 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 am. L. Chris Stewart served as the keynote speaker, and Judge Piper Griffin was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Gala 2017
On Saturday, September 9, 2017, the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society celebrated 60 years of encouraging the interchange of ideas, promoting legal scholarship and the administration of justice at our Annual Scholarship and Jazz Brunch, entitled “Celebrating Martinet’s 60th Anniversary: Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present, and Embracing the Future.” The celebration was held at the Ritz Carlton, 921 Canal Street New Orleans, Louisiana, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Highlights included the our keynote speaker, Bakari Sellars, honoring all of our members with 40 or more years of practice, showing our 60th Anniversary Video, and our silent auction!
